CrossFit is defined as “Constantly Varied Functional Movements that are performed at High Intensity”, (Courtesy of CrossFit, Inc).  Constantly Varied means that the daily workouts are different and include movements from gymnastics, weight lifting, power lifting & “cardio” endurance.  Each workout of each day is different, but there is a method to the madness.  The Movements are Functional- natural, safe, effective.  For example, the movements most used are- “deadlifts, squats, pull-ups, running and lunging, push- ups and dips, presses and jerks, cleans and snatches, rope climbing, sit-ups, jumping, throwing, pressing to handstand and some hybrid movements like the muscle-up, clean & jerk, “wall-ball”, and “thruster”.”, (CF Journal March 2004).  The workouts are performed at High Intensity- We move large loads, long distances- and we do this QUICKLY!  CrossFit is not easy, but CrossFit works.


CrossFit is for everyone- as its universally scalable.  It is not, however, for the mentally weak.  The load and intensity can be scaled, but each athlete will commit to the full range of motion.  Whether you are on your knees or on your toes, your chest will hit the deck on every pushup.  Whether you deadlift 550lbs or 55lbs, we will coach you to safely take the bar from the ground to full extension.

 

CrossFit is designed to make you “better” & more efficient at movement, improving your General Physical Preparedness.

 

Whether your goal is an IronMan triathlon, or being able to chase your 2 year old around the house without getting winded– you will become stronger.  Our commitment to you is improving your life.  This isn’t an 8 week bootcamp.  Its also not a quick fix.  This is a lifestyle that can be shared with friends & family, improving overall health & performance!
